SOCIO Pakistan, funded by UNODC, has initiated a comprehensive health project in District Jail Quetta. The project focuses on providing primary healthcare, STI treatment, HBV awareness and testing, and health counseling to inmates. Additionally, it involves renovating jail barracks and conducting regular health awareness sessions to reduce the risk of HIV & AIDS among the incarcerated population.
In response to the rising risk of HIV & AIDS among vulnerable groups, SOCIO Pakistan launched this project at District Jail Quetta. Funded by UNODC, the project establishes dedicated health centers within the jail, organizes training for healthcare personnel, and coordinates with local stakeholders to deliver essential health services. Key interventions include setting up drop-in centers, conducting regular health assessments, and offering counseling sessions—all aimed at reducing disease transmission and improving inmate health outcomes.
